Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the gym for 2024! We are absolutely thrilled to have everyone back and ready for another fantastic year.

We are excited to announce that Skills testing for All Recreation Classes will be taking place in Week 8, from Monday 18th to Saturday 24th March according to the EGA Event Calendar. Our dedicated recreation Coaches will be conducting assessments on all students to ensure they are placed in the correct Class, Colour, or Stage. This is their time to shine!

The testing will be conducted during class time, so your child can be assessed on their skills and talents right where they feel most comfortable.

Just like scoring an amazing gymnastic routine, we’re rating each gymnast out of 5 on five key skills per apparatus – Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor. The focus is on competency, not competition!

Remember, passing the “Colour” or “Stage” means moving forward to the next level of challenge, not just the next class. It’s all about personal growth and development.

And don’t forget, our classes are organised by school year groups, not just ability levels. Within your child’s class, there are three different levels to cater to everyone’s unique journey.

For our Advance/Teen Gym program, get ready for an exciting adventure through our 10 stages of learning and fun!

At EGA is gearing up to provide an insightful report card tracking your child’s progress and development throughout Term 1. This initiative is designed to celebrate achievements, recognises hard work, and promote continuous improvement.

Upon completion and passing of the Colour or Stage, parents will receive a notification on your child’s progress in a detailed report card format. It’s a fantastic way to see how far your child has come!

For those students selected to join our Competitive program, keep an eye on your inbox for a special invitation coming your way soon. Please note that participation in this program will involve exciting new challenges and opportunities for growth.

Please note if your child has been selected, it will involve the following:

Change of training days
Increase in hours
Increase in training days

Parent Viewing
We will only be having the following parents in the gym to View the testing.
Kinder Stars – Pre schoolers 4-5.5 years old
Beginner Recreation – Kindergarten to year 1
Intermediate Recreation – Year 2 to Year 3

No parent Viewing
Gym Skills, Advance and Teen Gym – will have their viewing in Term 3 at the Spring Carnival.

Uniform Requirements
All gymnasts are required to wear their EGA training uniforms. No jewellery, no loose clothing and hair is pulled tightly back from the face.
